Shaheen, former owner of Obese Records, was instrumental in the early stages of Australian Hip Hop music & helped many artists, including HG. When asked to submit a song for a compilation album on his label while he was going through some trials & tribulations, we were honoured to be involved. The beat was slapped together relatively quickly & the vocals recorded one long messy night @ Ciecmate's studio, barely making the deadline for the album's release. Helmed by the dense, rugged instrumental & Ice-T sample in the chorus, "Destroy The Rhyme" was a drastic departure from the mellow styles typical of most Australian Hip Hop of the time.
